HOW DO YOU USE PAINT STICKS?
First remove the Lid – you may need to assist small children with this task. Snap or bend the lid off, with a twist of the wrist.
With the initial use you may need to push down while giving a gentle squeeze between your thumb and index finger to get the paint flowing.
So your child will get a good flow of paint onto the paper, they will need to press quiet firmly and small children may need some instruction.
Small children will start by applying downward pressure in a dot formation until they have the hand control to move the paint stick across the page to form lines, circles and create fabulous art work.
The depth of colours of the paints do not show up as deep say on a thin butchers paper as it would on thicker photo copy paper.
Paint Sticks have been created so small children can easily use them without making a mess and are quick to pack away.
HOW DO YOU REFILL THEM?
This can be a little fiddly (a job for a grown up) remove the foam nib from the top of the tube, rinse out remnants of old paint and ensure that you put the foam nib back on correctly by pushing it down very firmly onto the tube after refilling.
I suggest you refill them with a Non toxic, water based children’s paint which conforms to the Australian Standards 1647.3. The paint is to be a custard consistency not too runny and filled to just below the nodules on the tube. Refills of Non toxic, water based children’s paint can be purchased from any Department store, Warehouse type stores or from an Art supplier.
